Login to your Joomla Administrator

Once you login to the backend, e.g. "www.yoursite.com/administrator" with your username and password. Click "Media Manager" which is located under Site as a sub-menu link called "Media Manager".

Once inside, you will notice there are various thumbnails of images already stored on your website. At the bottom of that page, is a "Browse" and "Upload" field. At the top, you will see the title Files with a file path underneath of it, e.g. "/home/sitename/public_html/images" -- and this is where you want to be. So, if you upload a picture using the browse/upload form below, the file will be uploaded to e.g. "/home/sitename/public_html/images/picture.jpg" and the URL for that picture is e.g. www.yoursite.com/images/picture.jpg.

Go back to Article Manager, and use the "What You See Is What You Get" WYSIWYG Editor, and add your picture URL when prompted. It's that easy!
